Akeelah and the Bee

Our family watched "Akeelah and Bee" together the other night. It was a great story about an eleven year old girl from Crenshaw (Los Angeles area) who beat the odds and won the National Spelling Bee competiton.

I can't even spell "p-a-n-c-r-e-a-t-i-t-i-s."

    I think I will have my family sit down and watch that. It looked very inspiring. We had our very first day of Homeschool today and I couldn't spell some of the words in the 4th and 6th grade spelling books! Oh My.....
