A Case for Columbo

For the sixth time in a couple of weeks, I have received e-mails from wealthy widows in Africa. Today's came from a Mrs. Monica Tema. All of these dear ladies inherited a large sum of money when their husbands died --and they want to donate a few million to a worthy cause. All I have to do is send them my bank account numbers.
Hmmmm -- I think somebody should investigate this!! Something very suspicious is happening!

Why are all these wealthy Africans dying??? Sounds like a case for Columbo!!

  1. Ah Ha - - now you're on "the list" too!!!! The Nigerian SCAM list.

There have even been episodes of the crime solving drama shows about this very thing.

We get them here too - - - only ours say they are from a lawyer and we are the only relatives left to inherit a large fortune.

Scary thing is - - - some people fall for these things.

We as a church have to be careful that we do not come across to the community the same way as the scam artist.

The church to often see's their cause as a pilmagrige sent to them by God and the pit falls of over spending on their cause as a failure of the flock to give what the Lord wanted them to give.

Example: A man received a letter from a church he had not attended in several years. This church wanted him as part of their church family to invest his money in their church.

It was sad that the same people who thought of him as church family when they needed money had not contacted him once in several years to find out why he was unable to come to church.

Thieves in general don't hold down jobs and they have all day to sit around figuring out way's to rip honest people off! My son got one about land in Mexico he inherited. They sent a form for him to fill out and it wanted his bank account number. I threw it away!!
