If this is not a place where tears are understood, Then where shall I go to cry? And if this is not a place where my spirit can take wings, Then where shall I go to fly? I don't need another place for trying to impress you With just how good and virtuous I am. I don't need another place for always being on top of things; Everybody knows that it's a sham. I don't need another place for always wearing smiles, Even when it's not the way I feel. I don't need another place to mouth the same old platitudes; Everybody knows that it's not real. So if this is not a place where my questions can be asked, Then where shall I go to seek? And if this is not a place where my heart cry can be heard, Where, tell me where, shall I go to speak? So if this is not a place where tears are understood, Where shall I go, where shall I go to fly? -- Ken Medema
You can pray all you want, but nothing will happen until you get off of your duff and try.
ReplyDeleteHe will help you if you try, but expects at least some effort on your part.
Your prayers and your will may not be his plan and his will for your life.
Pray for forgivness, read the bible with a open heart.
If you do this, it will show you what the best path is for you.
yeah -- but most folk I know do a whole lot more pushin' than they do prayin'
ReplyDeleteWalt and Mark,
ReplyDeleteYou are both correct. We need the praying to find God's Will. Then we need to get 'off our duffs' and push to get God's (not our) agenda accomplished.
It is often easy to mistake our desires for God's Will.
You are correct Walt.
ReplyDeleteWe had a test to take that I was not prepared for. Things were going on in my life that did not give me the time to study like I should.
I did pray and got a few of my friends to also pray that somehow, God would let me pass this test.
Guess what! I failed by a mile.
So Walt what you said is true.
I did not pray "If it is your will" then let me pass the test.
My prayer was more or less a challenge to God to see if he could do it. My will-not his will was my main concern.
Pray-Until-Something-Happens
Before you PUSH, you need to take the brake off.
Pray-Until-Something-Happens
Should be
Prepare- then - PUSH
I now know better and will prepare before the next test in life.
