Between What Is and What Ought to Be
Tommy Mitchell pastors a thriving church in southeast Mississippi. Recently, left this outstanding post on his blog, Rurban Church. It's about navigating the tension between "What Is" and "What Ought to Be.
"Lord, help me rejoice in the blessings of "what is!" Help me to avoid letting "what is" become "what was!" And most of all - help me do my part to bring "what ought to be" to reality."

Great post: The "What is" is our reality; The "What ought to be," our vision. If our vision is the same as our reality something is wrong.
ReplyDeleteMay God grant each of us a great vision for Him and the strength to be always doing our best to reach out for it. May He give us a high mountain to climb and a glorious view on the way up as He helps us to climb it. Yet, let the view that we have now be nothing compared to what we will see when we finally come to the peak.
