This is a simple picture used as an advertisement to entertain and draw people to an attraction that the world has long since forgotten is a piece of nature that God has made.
How can Faith be something in a picture? Isn't it supposed to be real? Isn't faith supposed to be something that drives us each morning to seek a God who is alive and working among us and within us each day?
Posting a picture with the title faith is simply a poor man's feeble attempt at trying to explain faith.
With that said, aren't we all poor men desperately trying to understand God and everything that that means?
So maybe this is simply a way of attempting to understand what Faith is by putting in human terms. I don't know the answer, but I am quite confident that this is not an accurate depiction of faith.
Reminds me of a sermon Pastor Mark preached about jumping off a roof. He was 99.99% sure he would go down instead of up. God's Laws verses Nature's Laws which God made.
If we want to be sure, let's let Mark jump off of the Church roof and see which way he goes. UP we will call it Faith. Down we will call it Stupid.
Mark sometimes tries to make us think outside the box.
What you all did not see was the bear that was running after the man. In that case it was a BIG LEAP OF FAITH. He may only have .0001 chance of reaching the other side but if he didn't jump there was a 100% chance he was going to get eaten by the bear.
It also reminds us of how short we all fall from the Glory of God. It does not matter how far we jump, if we miss - we miss.
FAITH OR STUPIDITY? GOD EXPECTS US TO USE COMMON SENSE AND NOT PUT OURSELVES INTO NEEDLESS DANGER.
ReplyDeleteIs there a story that goes along with that picture?
ReplyDeleteTaking a big leap of faith is scary -- and in the middle of the jump -- we wonder whether we'll ever survive it.
ReplyDeleteThe view is spectacular on the other side.
It seems that no matter if it is a big or small leap of faith it is the first step that is the hardest.
ReplyDeleteThis is not faith.

Yep -- I'll admit to a poor man's feeble attempt.

I agree anonymous, Faith or Stupidity?
I volenteer Mildred to jump off of the Church roof.
ReplyDelete-BIG SMILE-
Amen to Walt.
ReplyDeleteHannah agrees that it is stupidity

There's more to every man's story.
A poor man's feeble attempt?
I don't think so!
It's still not faith, just good marketing.
