If this is not a place where tears are understood, Then where shall I go to cry? And if this is not a place where my spirit can take wings, Then where shall I go to fly? I don't need another place for trying to impress you With just how good and virtuous I am. I don't need another place for always being on top of things; Everybody knows that it's a sham. I don't need another place for always wearing smiles, Even when it's not the way I feel. I don't need another place to mouth the same old platitudes; Everybody knows that it's not real. So if this is not a place where my questions can be asked, Then where shall I go to seek? And if this is not a place where my heart cry can be heard, Where, tell me where, shall I go to speak? So if this is not a place where tears are understood, Where shall I go, where shall I go to fly? -- Ken Medema
I think that Billy Graham is a great man of God.
ReplyDeleteSomething was said by Billy when his wife died at her funeral that bothered me.
He said that he was glad to see his children and grandchildren, some of which he had not seen in a long time and others he had never seen.
What keeps a Man of God from being as great a father and grandfather as he was a minister?
One would think that with the resources that were available to Billy Graham, his family would have been a bigger priority in his life.
In my case with the birth of a new grandchild, you could not keep me from going to see them.
I do not think that God requires devotion to him to the extent that a pastor neglects his family.
This makes me wonder if the children and grandchildren were asked about their family life, what they would say if they were honest?
I see no excuse for any pastor to have children and grandchildren he has never seen.
His message he reflects to his family is just as important or more so than the one he preaches to his church.
