Our Christian Responsibility

"I urge you then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for everyone -- for kings (Presidents) and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

This is good and pleases God our Savior,. . .

obama is leading america away from god's way. we have never been in more danger. everything i believe in has been taken away.

@Anonymous - if Obama took everything you believe in just by being elected President, I truly feel sorry for you. I have never seen such a weak individual

America is about freedom. There is life and issues outside of a 2,000 year old prophet.

Dear anonymous....I don't see that our nation has been following Jesus' example for quite some time....maybe our new president will help us all to open our eyes and see that maybe we've had a rather narrow and self-centered view of what "God's way" is. My prayer is that he will, by his example, encourage and inspire all of us to live with humility, integrity, compassion and cooperation as citizens not just of this nation but of this earth.

We all know the story of Moses and at the end how the rainbow shows his peace.
In a great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace.
The rainbow is a sign of hope, peace for tomorrow, and that all colors may join hands united in that hope.
Drawing close to one another in bringing that hope not only to ours but once again to the world.
That is our lead and this is our hope.

REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME WE NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS IT SADDENS ME TO THINK AS CHRISTAINS WE CAN BE SO NARROW MINDED THAT WE LOSE OUR FOCUS ON WHAT IS IMPORTANT.LOOK WE NEED TO RESPECT THE NEW PRESIDENT HE HAS A TUFF JOB TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THIS MESS WE HAVE GOTTEN OURSELFS INTO. LOOK YOU HAVE TO ADMIRE MR.OBAMA HOW MANY OF US WOULD WANT A JOB LIKE THIS ( TWO WARS,ROTTEN ECONOMY, CONFIDENCE IN OUR LEADERS AT AN ALL TIME LOW)JUST REMEMBER IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE HILLARY COULD HAVE BEEN ELECTED.

Some of us feel Hillary would have been a much better choice.

Would you like it if I said...

It could have been much worse, it could have been Hucklebee or even worse, Palin?

Where's the respect you were just talking about?

Are we Evangelicals or Pharisees?

Great point, Dale (and Mark, as this was your original message)....no matter who we chose to vote for--or not vote for--it is our responsibility to pray for our leaders. This is not a mere suggestion or an option.

No matter who won the election, we all need to remember that Jesus Christ our Lord is still on the throne, and will govern as He always does... with power, grace and love. Hope, I agree with you. It is our duty to pray for our leaders.

Hope,
I also agree with you. It is our responsibility to pray for ALL our leaders.

It is also our responsibility to respect anyone who would want to take on the horrific task of being a leader in today's society of politics.

How about trying to find something good to say about each of them instead of being sarcastic?

I personally did not want McCain as my President. But, if he had won, I know he would have done his best, and I would have respected him as my leader.

DALE-TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. A WOMAN COULD HAVE BEEN ELECTED. SARAH!
