Signs of a Lukewarm Pastor

A great post by Craig Groeschel

  • Prays as much, or more, publicly than privately.
  • Is almost exclusively dependent on others’ sermons to preach than directly hearing from God.
  • Cares more about his church than The Church.
  • Preaches about evangelism but doesn’t practice evangelism privately.
  • Tolerates and rationalizes unconfessed sin.
  • Preaches for the approval of people rather than the approval of God.
  • Is overly sensitive to criticism.

    Mark,
What a wonderful, much needed post. I can assure you controversy will arise from these statements. Controversy does not indicate negativism. A problem must be addressed before it can be solved. Thanks.

  4. Wow! What a spiritual checkup for us. I would have to say it looks quite accurate, as I have found and find myself within. This a great list to help us see if we are even sitting on the edge of becoming lukewarm as our lives touch on just a portion of the list.

Scott Williams really hit the nail on the head with this one.

More concerned with making the “Headline” than making sure their “Head & Heart are In-Line” with God!

I'd say they were signs of a terribly discouraged pastor.
