If This Is Not A Place. . .
If this is not a place where tears are understood, Then where shall I go to cry? And if this is not a place where my spirit can take wings, Then where shall I go to fly? I don't need another place for trying to impress you With just how good and virtuous I am. I don't need another place for always being on top of things; Everybody knows that it's a sham. I don't need another place for always wearing smiles, Even when it's not the way I feel. I don't need another place to mouth the same old platitudes; Everybody knows that it's not real. So if this is not a place where my questions can be asked, Then where shall I go to seek? And if this is not a place where my heart cry can be heard, Where, tell me where, shall I go to speak? So if this is not a place where tears are understood, Where shall I go, where shall I go to fly? -- Ken Medema
By simply asking that question, isn't one being pessimistic about the presence of optimism?

I agree with Keetha, isn't Cal being pessimistic about the presence of optimism? He says,
ReplyDelete"One doesn't hear much of it from politicians and especially not from the media, which trades exclusively in gloom and doom." I am an avid reader and listener to news. I hear optimism each and every day.
All I have to do to hear pessimism is go to my local church. This should be where optimism starts!

OPTIMISM-HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the key to being optimistic is looking for the positives in each and every situation. Regardless of what is going on in the world around us the Bible tells that three things will remain - faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13). These three things are pretty optimistic things to hold on to I think.
