Fighting Alcohol Problems with Prayer

In relationship to my last post about the importance of religion in America, I stumbled across a fascinating discovery.

There seems to be a direct relationship between a community's engagement in prayer and the level of alcohol problems.

Eight of the top ten states on the "frequency of prayer" list are on the bottom ten list when it comes to "frequency of alcohol problems."

All ten of the "worst drinking problem" states are in the bottom half of the "frequency of prayer" list.

My hypothesis: When more people pray regularly in a community, there are less alcohol problems.

    I think there is definitely a relationship between a community's engagement in prayer and the level of alcohol problems.

    When prayer life suffers, we see an increase in the following of God's word. Liars, cheaters, thiefs, abusers of fellow beings and young people who refuse to honor their elders grow like weeds.

    This happens to be violations of TEN COMMANDMENTS that God has directed all of us to follow.

    When a community allows this to happen, especially among the Christians, perhaps the rest of the world feels it needs something to help them tolerate the situation.

    Alcohol is not the problem. It is the unresolved problems that lead to the drinking.

    My hypothesis: When more people pray regularly in a community, there is not a reason for people to abuse alcohol, food or any other thing in their lives.

My Updated Ordination Succession

 I made an error when I listed my ordination succession a few weeks ago.  I was ordained by Earle Wilson and he was ordained by William Neff. I had thought that Neff was ordained by early Pilgrim leader, Seth Rees, but upon further investigation, he was actually ordained by Winfred Cox.  Thus, my ordination line takes a fortunate turn. It was a struggle reconciling Rees anyway.  I had taken a leap saying that he was ordained by the Nazarenes -- when, in fact, he was originally "recorded" (not ordained) by the Quakers, and the Nazarenes claim they never ordained him.  I find that hard to believe -- especially when, according to historian, Kostlevy, he participated in ordinations for the Metropolitan Church Association, a forerunner of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
