A powerful thought I gleaned from Mark Batterson's new book, Primal: (an awesome read, by the way)

What brings the most joy to God's heart: singing songs to Him, or caring for the poor?

    Maybe it's when the poor sing songs to God because his people have shown them compassion.

    Both, but only if done with a heart focused on God. Anything done with out a Godly heart is worthless. Thus, singing (even poorly) can bless God if from a Godly heart. Helping (no matter how grand) could fall short if we do it to bless ourselves in feeling good, instead of to please and witness for our Lord.
